I work in the neighborhoods with check cashing stores. I am absolutely sure on this premise, I would have at least $4,000+ dollars more money than i have now, if i didn’t have a bank account and especially with BAM. Because of overdraft fees, and fees. Reality is a guy working a job getting a check no direct deposit, or with some type of check cashing card, has more cash flow and cash saved than I do. Why because he pays the fee upfront for his expenses and he lives a secured lifestyle.

the problem isn’t buying what you can’t afford. i have a credit card with a balance of approximately $500. i use it for gas/groceries/small incidental purchases.
to bad i got laid off 2 weeks ago because my company is going down the drain. if i wasn’t lucky enough to have a wife who makes enough money to keep the payments up, that 500 dollar debt would skyrocket before i got back on payroll at any company.
Stop buying stuff you can’t afford. Pay for your things outright(unless it’s your mortgage) and you won’t have a problem with credit cards. Nothing is free. You have to earn everything. Just because a company gets money doesn’t mean you have to whine and cry about not getting a hook up yourself.

Bruthaman1971 is right. All banks must follow the same guidlines when opening bank accounts according to the Patriot Act. I’m a natural born citizen of the US and it makes me sick when other Americans don’t take ownership and blame others. I review financial risk and I find there are more Americans who ignore their financial responsibilities than any other race in the country.
Everyone needs to keep track of their money. BOA allows you to opt out of an overdraft matrix. The bailout funds were distributed to many banks to stabalize the financial system. If you’re opposed to the bailout then you welcome the Great Depression with open arms. The bailout is paid back to tax payers with interest, so we all benefit. why not post a video encouraging people who continually pay late to actually pay on time? if 5000 people pay on time it may not matter but if 5,000,000 people pay on time it’ll help! just a little twist on your words. we’ll see how many debtors bitch and complain when the card act takes effect and they still find a way to screw things up. in my years working in the credit card industry, it never fails and debtors never want to assume responsibility for the mistakes.
hate to tell you but bank of america could lose 5 million customers and they’ll still have well over 100 million customers. no matter what bank you go to, the economy is going to dictate certain provisions of your account. the card act will be enforced in feb 2010 to help consumers but have you considered that when people don’t pay their loans, the burden falls on other’s shoulders?
