Is it possible to change your banking information to recieve an expected stimulus check in May?

I filed my taxes electronically as well as recieved my reinstate to my bank account. That bank comment was compromised as well as will be sealed as shortly as we get behind in to the country. Is it probable to shift my banking report to the opposite bank to recieve my impulse check?

No, you cannot change the bank information once the return is accepted by the IRS. This is an anti-fraud measure.

If the account is no longer active your rebate will be rejected by the bank. When that happens it will be returned to the IRS. The IRS will then re-flow your rebate payment for payment by check that will be mailed to the address on your 2007 tax return. If you have moved since filing your 2007 return, file a form 8822 with the IRS to notify them of your new address. Also put in a change of address notice with the Post Office. The Post Office WILL forward rebate checks if you have a change of address on file with them.

Doubtful that the changed banking information would get to the IRS in time.
Best see if you can get that compromised account closed ASAP.

No, you can’t change it now – you’ll get a paper check in the mail.
